This shot was took looking directly into the bright sun. I couldn't hardly see what I was shooting. Would this be considered under or over exposed.

shooting a backlit subject like your bridge means the camera will try to shoot a correct exposure for the brightest part of the picture. The result is the bridge is underexposed. If you up the EV factor, you'll wash out the sky somewhat, but the bridge will not be just a silhouette. Sometimes, though, that's the effect you want, so it's really up to you to decide how you want the image to look.

I like that 1st and last posted one in particular,and respect for the heron shot; I know how hard it is to get a good shot of them (I they fly ofcourse )
