When doing nigth shoots, I use manual mode for controlling exposure time, and also Program mode using the built-in flash, I getgreat results; however focusing and framing is a mess because I see NOTHING on LCD nor EVF!!!

Does anybody have a suggestion or solution???

Receive all my best warm wishes for 2005!!!!!

Happy new year to you too!

I / We have the same problem with the FZ20. What helps some, is to frame the shot in one of the automated modes (P/A/S), and set the exposure compensation to max. That 'gains' the display. Just as you've done the framing part, switch back to M, and take the shot. I guess you use a tripod, so you don't loose your frame by switching back to M, and get the settings right. Also, manual focussing is more easy this way.

It does not 'turn the light on'on your display, but it does me a good difference.

Have a good one, and feel free to share some results; Nightshots usually do quite good

You can also keep it in manual, set the ISO to 400 to frame the shot, then set it back down to what ever you want to take the shot.

The ISO gains the display up as well for framing.

You will have to pre-focus with the manual focus switch, or just manualy focus.
