Fantastic, as always... Getting hard to keep up with all the threads. I almost missed out on these! Did you use a filter or any post processing (apart from framing)? The look like they have a pleasing glow or diffusion about them.

How you guys keep these bugs still long enough to compose and frame them so beautifully is beyond me. What shutter speed do you use?

Nick

Nick,

Looks like he gives all his trade secrets on the bottom left of his pictures. We just don't have the beautiful bugs he seems to have at his disposal. I will say that he has this art form down to the t (chuanye). Every picture is worthy of being published in a photo book. I have loved everyone that has been posted so far.

tchuanye,

Superb as always. You and nzmacro should look into making a macro photo"book".

Amazing shots tchuanye, you and Danny really set the mark for Macro work. I also have to agree with vIZnquest about the book thing. I have just purchased a Macro book (Nature photography close up -macro techniques in the field by Paul Davies if any one is interested) and I must say that your photos are as good if not better than most of the photos in this book.
After attempting some macro work myself I have come to really appreciate how great your work is. I have one question though tchuanye, your colours always look so rich and vibrant do you do any post processing or is that just the way the bugs are?

Hi everyone,

I'm tchuanye's friend. He is on a business trip to Denmark from Singapore. He'll be there for about a month. He told me that he'll correspond whenever he can get access to the net there(Denmark) during his free time or working hours(not too sure). So just be patient for a while for his replies.

Jacky

PS: I am trying to get near his std too.:G I've ordered the Nikon 3T & 4T cos I am using the Raynox RT5264P adaptor. He is really very good at macro shots and not only insects and bugs. He did some water droplets shots in his galleries too.

Thanks Jacky for explaining!

And thnks all for your comments!

Sorry guys, was away quite awhile, just came back.

Treemonkey, the colours of the bug are that vibrant....thats what attracted them to me in the first place. I usually do some levels and curves to brighten the pic up.

Anyway found out that its not a moth....will repost some of it soon.....
