Ok doublepost.

Panasonic Bob is around and is lurking. He will comment when he can, when it works out with his busy schedule. You can always private message him and he will get to it as soon as possible. Hes off to Japan soon for a couple of weeks so don't feel too sorry for him :-), mind you its business. Lets hope he can get some photography in as well.So he is a busy guy.

Ok, the fly. Some flies I just like the way the light reflects and bounces off them. This one was enjoying the little bit of sunshine we have had lately on some rocks. The pose made it look like it was smelling something, unusual because of course they use other senses.

All the best Panasonicites. :-)

Danny.

Be afraid. Be VERY flipping afraid!

Cool photo, how close were you to him/her/it? Did you have to stun it in any way to stop it flying off?

I take it you use an add-on lense of some sort for that sort of magnification? I'm new (obviously) to all thing FZ and photography in general to be honest. Although I have been hammering my Dad's EOS-D10 while waiting for my FZ20 to arrive, trying to learn some of the theory as it were.

I love the color and details in that, especially on the eyes! How were you able to get that close to the fly? (or did you?) Again, very cool!

Hey thanks folks, much appreciated.

Questions phew. This is using a Canon 100mm on front reversed. Lens to subject distance around 30-40mm (inch and a half).

Stunned.....stunned, heck nature lover this end kaiser. I harm nothing LOL. Its knowing how your subjects work that helps. Studied insects for 30 odd years now. So it becomes easy.

Will, theres a trick to compound eyes and all flies have them, when you focus and its sharp, there is a shimmering pattern in the EVF. No shimmer, not sharp on the eyes. If it shimmers, click it M8t. :-)

Thanks again folks. :-)

Danny.

The eyes are most impressive indeed,I love the green and yellow colors on the back with the detail and sharpness of the hairs as well. Awesome shot Danny!
