I thougt you just wanted a remote if you want to make one here is a diagram.

Pay attention to the resistors as that is what makes the release work and the plug is from a cordless phone headset , make sure it is in 4 sectionslike the picture.

You can get the headset at the dollar store for a dollar.

I do not believe the FZ5 has the remote capability, But I do not have one so maybe someone else could confirm the fact.

I've also built one of these radio remotes, and it's a piece of cake to put together. I added a mono 1/8" jack across from "4" to the left end of the 2K res. for operation of just the shutter from a digital interval timer I put together from a kit from All Electronics. I can post details if there is interest. Tom

Thanks for the heads-up, I got busy on another "project" (Skype and Gizmo VOIP) and hadn't checked back here! The timer I picked out is a simple kit based on a 555 timer IC, I think the kit was from - http://www.escience.ca/circuitT/REND...043/13047.html and the relay in it can be hooked right across the shutter controling relay of the RF control board. The "on" period timing capacitor can be bridged with a higher value to make longer timed periods, and the associated variable resistor could be replaced with an offboard calibratable variable resistor for more accurate reproduction of timing periods. It's a simple kit to assemble, and is available preassembled for novices. Hope this helps - if you need more, email me @tswill2-cox.net. (scrambled for blocking autoreapers) Tom

ps - check page 2 of this thread for a modified schematic.

Thanks very much, Tom.

I'll check out this kit and see how it fits with my wireless remote. (I didn't use the relay version of the receiver -- I used the "basic stamp" version.)

I am interested in how you made the 'basic stamp' work.

Thanks
