I had this message on my FZ20,

Corrupt JPEG data:
289 extraneous bytes before marker Oxd9.

I formatted the 512 mb memory card a few times
and I was able to access new photos again
although the same message has appeared again.

Any suggestions?

Where did you format the card - on the PC or in the camera? It sometimes makes a difference. The general concensus is ONLY format in the camera.

I formatted through the camera menu
I might do it through the pc and see if that clears those extraneous bytes
Thanks for your help
