Actually pigeons stay on my balcony, so at 2-3 m distant they can fill the whole image, nearly a macro... I hope I can be as luck with wild animals next spring, although it'll be very hard. Anyway FZ20 will always be with me, as a kind of girlfriend :-)

After consulting a few books, I'm sure you Heron is known as the 'White-faced Heron'

Irdea novaehollandiae........found in many parts of the world and very common in Australia.

Thanks for that, I came to the same conclusion after checking my bird book, so now I know what a heron looks like

Shot two birds today. The redbreast is really shy, and This is like the 20th attempt to capture it. But trough a window...
