Seeing Bobc's recent post of some really nice pictures in the park, in particular the covered bridge, reminded me that there is a covered bridge in my neck of the woods. The Honey Run covered bridge.
This bridge gained some small fame when it appeared briefly in a scene from the movie "Friendly Persuasion" staring Gary Cooper in 1956. I didn't live hear then but, I have driven over it when it was still open. It's protected from traffic now and a little the worse for wear but still has proud profile so I wanted to share a few pictures of a vanishing breed.

pretty cool! i didn't know there ever WERE any covered bridges in Cali! I thought those were pretty much just a mid-west and New England style.... Nice shot, though!

Yes, crisp and devoid of rain for the moment.

Thanks Nick, Yes the inside is a really interesting structure. Unfortunately, you can't go inside any longer. The put up a gate a few years ago because of the decaying wood. Pity, it was nice being able to stroll through the bridge to the other side.

Bobc
I have two things to thank you for. One for the compliment on the picture.
More importantly thank you for reminding me that there are other things to photograph besides birds. Your, posts remind me that this is an infinitely interesting world with a bazillion subjects waiting to be photographed and I don't want to get too focused on just one of them. I had a ball shooting the pictures today after work and I didn't get to even a tenth of the things I saw before the sun went down. Thanks buddy,
