I have been following the threads and have thoroughly enjoyed all of the reading in this forum over the past week or so. I have the following lenses and flash that I used with my old Olympus IS-3 SLR, and want to know if anyone has either experience with or opinions of the applicability of these with the FZ20. Both lenses are 55mm. Looking to perhaps save a few $ by recycling these items. Thanking any and all for comments in advance! :?

Iknow you can use the 2 lenses with great success on the FZ-20 you will need a aftermarket 55mm adaptor as the lens hood that comes with the FZ-20 is too far from the end of the lens and you will get vignetting.

check out 10kzooms' site on add on lenses at http://www.pbase.com/10kzoomfz

The flash if it's trigger voltage is under 24 vols should work with the FZ-20 esp if it has good manual settings

check this page out for trigger voltages on flashes

also this site is very informative for the FZ-10 and 20

The B300 is an older version of the TCon 17 and will work with the FZ 20 if the Wangle lens has the same threads I should also work.

You will need an adapter to get to 55mm thread size.

Thank you for the reply, it was very helpful! I will have to contact Olympus re the G40 flash trigger voltage. I am buying the phayee adapter, hood, and ring, as well as the 72>55mm step down ring. I gather that this combo should work OK, along with a 62mm UV filter. Does that sound OK? Recommendations for other hoods are confusing!

Witth the Phayee adapter you need a 62mm to 55mm stepdown ring. ANd or filters need to be 62mm.

Not 72mm

In the 72mm end of the Phayee adapter you can screw in a lens hood but the filters and lenses go on the 62mm section

Here are the instructions to measure your trigger voltage
