I shot this picture looking almost directly into the sun. I wasn't sure if it was going to come out. When I saw it, I thought it would lend itself to a mono-tone color effect. Purple seemed like an interesting choice. sooo......

Here it is.

Boyzo,

Thanks, it was a shallow irrigation canal choked with reeds. I have driven by this canal many times and usually never give a second glance. But this time there was this Egret and with the sun behind it just seems kind surreal. There mono-tone color ( and I am not convinced that pink is the BEST color choice) just made it a little more interesting.
Thanks for having a look,
smac

Smac... I think this is THE best photo you've ever posted, and one of the best I've seen on this site. Excellent shot.
(PS... not to be a contrarian, but I was one of the few who prefered Shemp to Curly...)

Wow, High praise. Thanks Nick. I appreciate the compliment.

Preferring Shemp to Curly is not a problem for me. I am an equal stooge admirer. And from what I have quietly observed of this forum lately so are it's members. What a merry band we are.

Great photo smac and what a effect. Must say that I am a big Curly fan-along with all the Stooges but I could never stand curly joe-never liked him.

"Moe Larry the cheese!"

Happy :|,

Man: What be your name, lass?
Young Woman: (curtsies) Lorna Doone
Shemp: Oh! Hi - Lorna! Howya doone?
(Shemp takes a hard slap by Moe.)
