Looks promising; sure gonna try that one

I always save my filesas X:\photos\year\month\day-month-year-subject\*.jpg

But that's still hard to search for that one specific image :?

Try year-month-day and your folders will always be date sorted.

ie 2004-01-21_subject

otherwise

21-01-2004

in a master folder will sort with all the 21's together.

Newsy - that's the way I do it too...took me a while to figure it out, then to get in the habit, but once there, it works the best I've found...

BTW, your avatar - radio controlled???

Downloaded picasa2 this morning and just gave it a quick look with a couple of photos. From my quick playing with it I could get a lot done a lot faster than with Microsoft Image Suite 9, which I had been using. Microsoft puts things in weird places. Picasa looks like it will do 90% or so of what I usually want to do. Does anyone know if there is a source for a printed manual or something for it? My aging eyeballs like to read from paper better than from a computer screen. Although, just noodling around with the program made it seem that most things are pretty intuitive. Looks pretty good, and free is a good price. Wonder what's in this for Google?

i like the straighten feature, for those times when an image is just a tad out of line, like a water horizon that's not quite level, or buildings that tilt ever so slightly... and some of the tinting and graduated filter" effects are kinda handy. all in all, not bad for a free download! about the only things i really would like to do that i can't with the freeware i hare are selective coloring, and some of the plug-in effects i've seen used by members here...
