Hey boyzo and Nick..........I think I'm gonna get a FZ 1 this week. I found some demos for $200 from an authorized Panasonic dealer. They're open box with 1 year/90 day Panasonic warranty. I kinda want one for the small size and the different sort of image in captures. My wife maybe using it so do you think it will work for her as a point shoot. I'm probably gonna use it quite a bit, but she needs a new camera
For $200 I would be half-tempted to get another, though I generally don't like store demos w/ digitals (make sure that lens is clean!) It works the same as your 20 except it has fewer pre-sets and a weaker flash. It's autofocus indoors/low-light sucks out of the box, and there's no assist lamp. Same "heart" mode with continuous autofocus, so I guess that depends on the Mrs... I think the program mode is pretty fool proof, but its limitations are the same... they're not the best indoor cameras out of the box, but excel outside. There are better point and shooters, for the disposable camera crowd, and as much as I like the camrera, I'm not sure this would be the one I would get for my wife.

If you decide to get it, do upgrade to the FZ-2 for the apeture and shutter priorities, better autofocus, and lower file compression. Everybody does, and it's a much better camera after the upgrade. Do read the sticky FAQ on this forum - invaluable, I refer to it often. While I don't think it will replace your 20, I do think you'll appreciate its small size, and big-bang for the buck factor. Before long you'll be picking up, and posting ?'s about ir...

Let us know how it goes.

Hey boyzo.

You picture is pretty sharp indeed. But it could use some leveling concerning the contrast / color. Its a bit flat and underexposed now
