Hi all

I just found this forum so I hope to be active as much as I can.

I have owned a FZ1 for about 18 months now and have been having problems lately with underexposed photo's on bright days. I found the topics about upgrading the firmware to make my FZ1 basically into a FZ2.

I did this last night so I have not yet tried it out to see what cool features the upgrade has given me but I think it is going to be great. I hope I can now take some good photo's during the bright days we have here.

I took the attached photo last month but I had to brighten it up since it was quite underexposed originally. It was taken at a place called Orana Park in Christchruch, New Zealand which is where I live.

I have other photo's online at http://iisfaq.homeip.net/ngallery if you are interested at all. They are all taken on the FZ1.

I also put some photo's up on Photosig.

Cheers

Chris

Excellent !!!! There's just something about a giraffe - you can't help but smile at 'em! :?Did you use a wide angle lens when this was taken to get that perspective?

Welcome.

Picture is just great. Bit of a fisheye effect. Like he's peeking trough a hole or something.

Great pictures on your gallery too.. don't see many underexposed photo's there

cheers,

Tim

Welcome.

That's a great photo, just looks like you could touchthe giraffesnose. Butimho it could be even better if you had slightly increased the contrast andsharpenedthe photoa bitafterscaling it down.

Thanks for the great comments everyone - it is very encouraging.

I was quite close to the Giraffe probably 2-3 feet - you can actually hand feed them and pat them during feeding time which was pretty cool.

Focal Length : 5.8mm
Exposure Time : 0.002s (1/640)

Thanks for the nice comments on the gallery as well.

Nice one
that giraffe looks like it is checking out your camera
I detect a bit of a frown there as well
Might be a good time to upgrade to an FZ20

Welcome aboard
