So I want to buy the Phayee FZ20 Tube adapter from Ron Jin, thinking to ask for the silver one to match silver fz20...Should it be a problem withinterior reflection from the hood portion ? or should i ask for black one to avoid it ?

I think there is no problem because I had this same concern before I bought my silver Phayee adapter (and stepdown, and custom cap) a few days ago. I did a search on dpreview and found a thread where this was discussed and the general consensus was there was no problem. I realize this evidence is just hearsay butthe posters sounded authoritative enough toconvince me. My itemsshould be here next week and I'd be happy to post some test shots. Ron told me all the other pieces he sells only come in black so if you also have a black hood like a Hama it probably wouldn't look wierd with a black adapter too I guess.

I have the silver adapter on my FZ and it's never given me the slightest problem with reflection from the silver inside of the "hood"... if you're worried about it, mask off the outside and the threads with masking tape and spray-paint the inside surface flat black... that way you can have a hood that matches the rest of the adapter and camera, and zero chance of stray reflections...

I wish you would clarify the difference between hoods an adapter. The adapter is the first piece of metal to be attached to the camera. It could matter if the adapter silver inside because the lens occupies almost the entire void when it extends. The silver front must have at a minimum a filter to cover the threads. The hood is the second piece of metal attached to the adapter. It had better be black inside or you will wash out your pictures with reflections and flares off the interior.

See my earlier post (http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...37&forum_id=23) . I have a silver FZ20 & bought a silver Phayee w/ the same concern before I got it. It's not an issue w/ the first part which hooks directly to the camera. I may take a picture of my camera (with my Kodak DC4800 "camera emeritus") & post to illustrate.
