Well, this one was, once -- it had an unfortunate life.

Lent it to the son of an employee, many years ago, and didn't see it again for about two years.

One day it turned up on my office desk, full of sand, minus lens cap and with a big hole burned in the shutter curtain.

Never saw my light meter again, either -- and his lordship kept well out of my way for years.

Must be a moral somewhere...

The camera is the first SLR Yashica marketed (in 1960/61, if I recall correctly (I bought it in Singapore)) -- was only on the market for a year, then they switched to a smaller and cheaper unit with Praktika screw lens mount and the original Pentamatic became an orphan as only Yashica's lenses fitted it.

I also have the 200mm tele that was sold for it, which I later converted and used on a Praktika Nova 1b I picked up for $5 in a local flea market -- it 'sort of' worked.
