Hi Mark.....I live a little north of you in Rome. I'm dealing with the same thing, trying to learn Photoshop. Can't seem to get the experienced guys to comment. I'm about to post a couple more and try again. I think your pic looks great!!

Thats a real sweet photo
composition dynamics, complimentary colouring, nice pose.
Maybe auto contrast in Photoshop would reveal more colour
strength.
I don't think it needs fiddled with much at all, I like it
pretty much as it is.

Mark...search the web for photoshop tutorials. You will be amazed at how many poeple put up info on here about how to do things...and a lot of them give you addtional plug-ins that are amazing when worked with PS.

About the shot you posted...I wouldn't try to edit it in anyway. Just remember that edits are for shots that you miss in some way...either they come out too fuzzy, or dark or the colors are off...or compositional issues. Don't have to fix every shot. Your shot looks really good just the way it is

nice composition, good exposure. seems just a tad soft, though...perhaps a touch of sharpening would help that. otherwise, a very nice photo!

I think it looks fine the way you took it. For comparison here is the shot defogged with a high radius and small amount in USM plus some sharpening.
