Hi,

Just got off the phone with Panasonic Australia and Teds camera store.
Teds have said that the details are correct, there is a new FZ-5 although they have no more details other than what is on their web site.

I called Panasonic Australia and they said "yes we do have a FZ-5 model although no details as of yet have been released to us". I asked, so its a new model and they replied yes it was.

Well there you have it, 5MP, 12x zoom and the size of the FZ3!

I will keep you up to date on any developments.

After having sold cameras for 30 years I do know how you feel but it is time to go digital. The Panasonic FZ20 .......
In a few weeks Panasonic will announce the FZ5, a smaller version of the FZ20, a 5MP in an FZ3 body.

Tree look at this thread..
http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...40&forum_id=23

Jury is out in whether its a true 5mp or interpolated up > from 3.1mp.
The CCD can't be larger and retain the same lens as the FZ3.

Cheers
