Hey guys

In this thread i'm going to post some photos occasionaly. Not a huge amount of photos (for the dial-uppers).

This is one I shot today -> who needs a teleconverter anyway :D

Quite similar to your avatar though not as sharp.

TimvdVelde Feb 7, 2005 8:42 AM

hehe. If I resize this one to 100x100 pixels it is sharp too :)

vIZnquest Feb 7, 2005 8:55 AM

willow is right about this one.

Tim if any picture is resized to those dimensions it would look sharper too.

I do like you pictures but this one is not your best.

A tad soft. Not all pictures need to betack sharp though. Colors are good and so is the composition. DOF is good too.

I don't need a teleconverter but I sure as heck want one. I will most likely be hooking up with smac in a couple of months if the timing is right. It would be helpful to have a guide who knows the area. If not, I am going there anyway and a teleconverter would be nice to have for those kind of shots.

I will also have my FZ10 to take photos without one.

Keep the photos coming.

Also, where do you focus or spot focus to take your shot. Do you use burst mode alot as well?

Sorry.......but after seeing the shots smac took this does look flat. The TC cost a lot of $$$, but if birds are your thing it's probably worth it.

hmm. I guess it looks flat because it's shot trough a window. (I don't think it's flat..or maybe it's my LCD monitor). If I used a teleconverter on this one.. I wouldn't be able to focus because the distance would be to short.

Instead I like to get closer to the birds.. much cheaper too :)

Personally, I still think it's a very pretty photo. Nice job.

the bird is in shady light so appears less sharp.
I too shoot birds thru' window glass.
Still a good Tim bird pic.

:-)

I put a squid feeder in my yard, hoping to get some nice tele shots of feeding squids. So far, none have come. Perhaps in the spring. :(
