Some pretty impressive FZ5 samples at http://panasonic.jp/dc/gallery/fz5.html

Click thumbnails belowto go tooriginal full size images.

One of my concerns with the fz3/15/20 was the intrusiveness of the Venus II processor's noise reduction. IMO, a good place to analyze it is with animal fur or human hair. The image of the girl is at iso100, f/3.3, 1/250s. Her hair looks greatat 100%. The tower shot is iso80, f/6.3, 2s. Again, very clean. Of course these are samples and have to be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertehless.........

Very, very nice. More so than the detail and sharpness of her hair, I think the skin tones of the little girl are spot on.

Nick - I was impressed with all the pics and it's nice to them using children playing rather than models modeling.

I dont know what that is with the tower; some kind of overhang? How are they both in focus? They dont seem to be close to the same distance from the camera. Oh well, I dont take many pics like that anyway.

Price will start at $500 and be well into the $400s by mid-summer I would think.

I printed P1020242.JPG (the blonde girl)from pana .jp site (the composition should have been portrait) onto Kodak premium glossy A4 on the HP DJ7660 at 4800 X 1200 6 color max dpi.

Its sharp and fine in detail no grain.

I looks great skin is real hair resolves to individual blond strands. and this is at ISO100.

It may well be FZ5 becomes a cult that surpasses the FZ1...
