I have the FZ1v2 since Oct 93 and I love it very much . My only gripe is that in wide angle shots the it is lacking in resolution. In close ups it performs extraordinary.Well I only print 4x6 anyway. But seeing FZ4 and 5 around the corner makes me want to empty my pocket.
I need assurance that my FZ1v2 is still in focus and sharp. All I have is a UV filter attached. Here are a couple of pics, first resized versions followed by 100% crops at the highest jpeg setting.

Wide angle shot

12x zoom on a tripod, AP F3.3 to simulate FZ5, In P mode it metered F3.6, so having F3.3 on the FZ5 ain't so bad, well in bright situations anyway.

100% crop. Can you see purple fringing? I think other comsumer cams would exhibit more CA.

#1 shot is underexposed.
the others ok light conditions are overcast this gives impression of unsharpness.

Set up in good light outside a simple object or scene and focus on it lock onto to it, evaluate it.

AutoFocus is a closed loop servo that locks onto vertical objects with contrast diff. if green dot locks focus must be right.

this still life is sharp my FZ1v2
