Hi

Sometime back i asked the forum about concert photography... and thanks to all those who replied with their inputs. After some reading and advice here is something that i thought was worth showing on this forum.

Let me know what you think of these pics. Are any of them worth a mention?

My thought -- Just about any of them would make good album covers.

Don't think I'm expert enough to comment on the technical details.

pictures look good. were you using an external flash? which one? how far where you from the performerS? i've tried doing similar things and the built in flash is nowhere good enough. cant wait to get a sunpak or something:lol:

Hi

I didnt use any flash.. All pics were taken from near stage... actually below stage.. luckily the only pass i required was a kewl pro looking camera (thanks to the FZ 20). Use of flash kills all the other lights on stage... Also it helps to shoot in Aperture Priority f2.8

For not using flash these shots are very good. Good job.

The tone kind of reminds me of the old Led Zeppelin video "The Song Remains the Same".. (that's a good thing)...

Did you do any post-processing on the images? What ISO were you using?I saw where you saidyou used A priority at f2.8; can you share the rest of theEXIF data for the shots? I think they look very good considering the conditions, that no flash was used, and the tendency of FZs to be noisyat high ISOs.

There is a lot of crap as you called them but there are some absolute gems. I think you know which are which. There is a picture of a girl with her head thrown back, if only the focus was better. I would pare down the gallery to about six or seven, maybe ten, pictures.

No Major Post processing done... except for a little bit of cropping for a few pics.

EXIF data for most of the pics would read...

ISO:400

Flash off

Aperture priority

F2.3

Shutter speed ranges from 1/25 to 1/300

Spot metering for all shots... (i learnt helps with the skin tones.)
