I just got engaged. I took a couple of pictures of the ring using the FZ15's macro mode. Let me know what you think (ring and/or picture).

photo angle makes it look like something from Stargate SG1... you might have a better pid from a higher vantage point. congratulations (or - dare i say it? - condolences) on getting engaged! :lol:

Here's one from a little higher angle. It was tough to focus in Macro mode w/oa tripod (my next purchase) so this one isn't as clear but it is a better angle.

You might want to take the ring out of the cotton and put it on a dark background so it stands out and you can see more of it. Try spot focus and maybe turn down flash intensity. 2 cents.

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely get it on some black velvet (if I can get it off her hand). I will also speed up the shutter. I didn't use the flash - the monster lense kept casting a huge shadow on the ring.
