Very resourceful, and yes the macrolights are way high priced for non-pro's who can't write it off our taxes. How long did it take you to make this?

About 5 hours of mental "how in the heck do I do this?" time, and after that, about 45 min soldering time.

Intriguing.

This one uses fiber optics to channel the light from the flash down to the ring.
