I just got my FZ20 and was trying out the macro function and have aquestion:

My Olympus C-2100UZwould let me zoom in 10x on something that is only 4 or 5 feet away then touch the flower button (macro) and my picture would be in perfect focus. I was trying todo this withmy FZ20 and it would not focus at all. Am I missing somethimg or is this not possible with the Panasonic. I like to take closeup detail pictures of things without being on top of them.

I hope I am doing something wrong and that this isn't a limitation of the camera.

As stated in the manual, at full tele (or close to it) you can only focus at about 6 feet. Try backing off on the zoom a little if you want to shoot from 4 feet. Trial and error is the best way to find your focus distance although the statement above will give you a guide. Also, you can do this in P mode as well as Macro mode.

Hope this helps.

Matt,

Thanks for the quick response and the tips. I need to sit down and read the manual.
