Took these today. Is it that late already? Make that yesterday. Hope you like them. I'm open to suggestions, criticism, humorous quips or good-natured insults.

First two are my favorites... The sculpture dominates the photo, not the other way around. The fishbones are cool but - as you'll U'm sure agree, the first just has cooler subject matter.

The last one is one of those shots where I wish the dof was shallower. It's a nice capture, but would have worked better if you could have isolated the subject more. It is well composed but the building in the background is in too sharp focus. Unfortunately, not much you can do.

I like the first two as well - the second pic has nice composition. The best of the bunch is the first.

Thanks for your comments. I agree. I posted my favorite first and the rest follow in descending order. It would probably help quite a bit if I thought about the subject carefully first, instead of just snapping a lot of pictures. That should be obvious, but sometimes I'm a little thickheaded. The first photo was about the only one I actually thought carefully about beforehand. So, if I use my brain and my eyes, maybe I can get one decent shot out of a hundred, instead of my current one out of a thousand!

Oh, I forgot. Hi Jed. I did some land surveying in Salisbury a few years ago and some in Spencer for the towns and for the county for their GIS. Nice place, friendly people. I'm an army brat, so I grew up all over the country, but my family is from Brown Summit. NC is a pretty nice place, though Greensboro is not my favorite. Would like to move back to Asheville (I'm in love with the mountains and the New Age hippie happenings in Asheville. Pack Square rocks!), but my work is here. Sigh.

Anyway, pleased to meet you. I've seen some of your pics, some good stuff, and meant to reply. Keep shooting.
