looks just about as close to a dinosaur as i ever wanna get! excellent shots!

some friends of mine used to have a Savannah Monitor, got to be about 4 feet long. they fed it live mice. you could pick it up and carry it around, as long as it was well fed, otherwise it might tryto take off a finger or two...

Nice shots...

Is that a bengal monitor?

I think they are related to the komodo dragon.

Swear, these critters seem to pose for you. Fantastic shots, as always. Love the monitor lizard, lizards in general. Especially, the giant radioactive ones that so frequently attack Japan! Like this one (below):

tchuanye, I got a couple of nice monitor shots with my new fz20 in Lumpini Park, Bangkok, yesterday. Was feeling quite proud of them but yours leavesthem for dead. So, what's your secret? How do you get them to pose just like that?

BTW, what mode do you use? I was experimenting with portrait - I figure it is a portrait of an animal. What do other members do for this kind of shot?

Cheers

John

Thanks for the compliments.

I did not get them to pose at all. They were at this pose as I found them. Maybe the weather was hot, so they just stayed still????

I use M mode most of the time, as I prefer to control the apeture and shutter settings myself. If I like what I see on the EVF, I will just snap the pic.
