That was a 'bite my tongue'. No need to get into a phissing match with anyone. I'll just ignore future posts.

Shadows under hand.

NOTE: This is a second sample shot for the question I posted above about weird treatment of shadows. Not intended to offend, but please also note that it's not a bird picture--it's a snap of a proud 11-year-old boy who's been hunting for weeks to get this, his first dove. Lots of things in nature eat dove, including 11-year-old boys.

If noise is your concern, there's alot of simple fixes as far to noise removing programs. I've heard Noise Ninja recommended by quite a few people and it seems to do a good job of cleaning up an image. A simple fact of digital cameras is that there is noise, it's something we trade off for all the other benefits of digital photography. There's noise in regular old film too, except they call it 'grain' and it seems to be a good thing for them.

Lots of things in nature eat dove, not all of them pack guns. I would have hoped there would have been a less offensive picture you could have posted to illustrate your issues with noise in shadows.

I prefer my birds breathing, thank you. Maybe you should post this in Rod and Gun magazine.
