Shadows under hand.

NOTE: This is a second sample shot for the question I posted above about weird treatment of shadows. Not intended to offend, but please also note that it's not a bird picture--it's a snap of a proud 11-year-old boy who's been hunting for weeks to get this, his first dove. Lots of things in nature eat dove, including 11-year-old boys.

we have many posts of bird pics, none like this

file is ASA100 1/10 at f4 light was low, some noise.

yes that is rather morbid..perhaps a cruel joke...this is shocking...
i shoot with my camera....not with my guns..

try giving your son the camera and post a pic of a live capture ..

As long as he ate the bird I personally dont have a problem with the shot or the photo..It does look rather odd after seeing live bird shots..I just posted the little woodpecker shots..But if your a meat eater as I am, hunting for food is ok even in god's eyes..to kill just to kill is a nother story..really no different than holding up a stringer of fish that was caught on a fishing trip for a trophy photo....But like i said if you kill it you must eat it...bottom line........:G

As far as the noise in the shadows its going to be there to some degree...... .
