Took 3 pictures - free-hand. Panorama as result looks great, used only automatch!

Did you take one of the pics from a reverse angle as I see 1 tree with snow on it.

No, that one tree just was lucky due to angle + direction, most trees bend a bit to north east as wind often is south-west with us.. Took pics standing on one spot, turning around half-circle left to right.

Looks good. I stumbled on to a quick and easy pano program. Check out autostitch.net

This program will automatically arrange any number of pictures into a finished product. I've just played around with it a little, but it does look very promising.

Tried out autostitch.net

GREAT !! :G

What I did: Went out today into the snow and made 7 pictures of trees clockwise, 4 at bottom left->right then right-left 4 more, all in high res 5MP FZ20 so:

7 / 6 / 5 / 4

1 / 2 / 3

Started AutoStich to load and without having to do anything, just cut out, it gave me below result. This is with reduction to 15%, also could makefull picture 400x1200 pixels.

And: Yes, it is extraordinary but we have a lot of snow in the Netherlands these days. They say it's a once per 50 year thing :-)

Autostitch is a bit superior to PM 3, but it gives you no possibility to edit control points as PM does, though to a limited extent.

If it does not work, it cannot be fixed with AS. But it has good blending and is free and unlimited although only saves into jpg format (while the great PTAassembler is not free and it has no AUTO mode, so one has to set the control points anyway).

I don't know what is the limit of "Mosaic mode" images with AS (PM 3 should be 4x4).

Useless to say that, if properly shot, these progs give the possibility to stitch pictures combining images of more than 60Mp, for great resolution and huge prints.
And it is also funny.

Certainly looks good, but when I went to autostitch.net it wouldn't let me in:

Must be a very discerning program.
