You got it mostly right IMHO

The path leads the eye into the the scene... plus the couple adds human interest ... very worthwile

Pretty much all thats needed for a great pic.

It was not the most optimal shooting conditions today... Bright sun underneath a partially shaded park, but it did make for some nice shadows!

Funny you should crop it that way -- the one thing I didn't like about it was that fencing in the lower left corner so I also had a version without the fence like that.

Great minds think alike. (or something like that)

Yes
I tried to place the couple at an intersection of the rule of thirds ... this creates MUCH more impact.. its easy to say
this now ... but even I would be hard pressed to get it right when I was shooting the scene you need to be lighting fast and its the reason that makes this shot difficult ... make no mistake the org. is fine ...
Just how I saw how it could have been ...

Thanks for the continued kind words!!! I'm learning how difficult it is to photograph people without making them feel awkward or having some large man come at you for taking his picture!
