Hey Fred, what is that thing a homemade swivel LCD?
It's a folding mirror. One regular - one magnified. Dollar store. I'm holding the magnified one pressed against the bottom of the fz1. The image is upside down, so dont smoke too much. Or maybe more.

Thank you for all your replys. Being quite new to using cameras (digital or otherwise) i have start rely upon using LCD. It appears this may be a good time to change to using the EVF before using the LCD becomes habit. ASAP:-)

that stuffs ok ;-)

Now fred that's neat I like it

When I had a Twin lens reflex Mamiya I used a mirror inside the lens hood at 45 degrees so I could get candids unobtrusively. the image was picked up at 90 degrees to my direct line of sight .. hard to describe ... but it worked

image attached scanned from print

Your Idea does it at the other end ;-)

Just a question.. What do you all prefer EVF or LCD, and why??

I use the evd for handheld, and if using a tripod, the lcd. Easier for me to look at the lcd if mounted on the tripod than the evd. Cheers........thekman.

Fred...

I CAN NOT find this #^%$ folding mirror! Do you had a make or a model so'z I can Google it? This will be velcro'd to the bottom of the FZ for Rolie-style waste shots.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Go to a Rite Aid or a Walgreens or a KMart, etc. It's my wife's. Dont they call them compacts? One side holds the make-up and and the other has a mirror. Get one of those if you cant find the double mirror.Just make sure to remove the make-up.The velcro wont stick to it.

Remember that it's upside down, backwards etc. So close one eye and stand on your head when using:idea:

A similar device is being used in a new illegal video taping practice called "skirting". The mirror, cameraattached, is beamed up a woman's skirt from the ground.I must remember to wear skirts more often...

Handheld its the EVf(wish it had more pixels and was a bit larger) - its the only real way that I can hold the camera without getting lots of camera shake with the FZ10. On a tripod the LCD.

Now Fred, I'm gonna have to get a matching hand bag to go with that mirror!

:? :G
