Just a question.. What do you all prefer EVF or LCD, and why??

EVF for taking pics, LCD for reviewing.
The EVF lets me assume a more stable shooting postion.
The LCD allows for a little better review of pics taken.

EVFas much as possible. I have found that pics which appear to be clear on the LCD turn out to be a little out of focus. May have something to do with my eyes, but with diopter adjustment in EVF, clarity is much better.

I prefer the EVF. I guess it goes back to my days with the 35mm SLR. I'm just used to doing it that way. Besides, if I don't have my reading glasses with me, my arms sometimes aren't long enough to hold the camera far enough away to see the LCD clearly! Gettin' old is a bear!! I also find that using the EVF helps mebrace the camera against my nose and cheek for a little more stability.

I prefer the evf but I find the one on the FZ20 is small and a bit uncomfortable, so I usually shoot using the LCD, and I love the battery power on that thing, it lasts very long, and I usually am using the on camera flash, as well.

EVF for me too, although i have mine set to automatically switch to LCD when i press the 'review' button. the EVF allows me to hold the camera steadier, and is much easier to see in bright light. plus, my eyes aren't what they used to be, and with the EVF and adjustable diopter, i can shoot without my glasses, and i don't have to hold the camera out arm's length in front of me to compose the shot... and like Propwash, i come from the old 35mm SLR days, and holding the camera up to my eye just seems natural. it feels like an SLR anyway, so i tend to use it like one...

Squirl, you wrote exactly what I was going to -- I'll second your thoughts.

I use the EVF mostly, (compared to an SLR its small and dim )with enough use the EVF is fine, after all you have already composed the scene with the naked eye so its simply a matter of composing and focussing correctly in the EVF.
The LCD is good for candids and low to the ground shots.
