Ahhh...one of my favorite subjects-kitties in the window.

The soft b&w head study is especially wonderful in both technique and subject!

That soft effect (which can be obtained in Photoshop with levels and particular blending of a level with normal BW pic and another one with Gaussian blur pic) was directly obtained by Virtual Photographer well known (free) plugin:

Arghh. Tigre in the bulb light after having devoured a sparrow :-)

Note: sometimes I have problems with aliasing in the whiskers' hairs when resizing the pics in Photoshop (and sharpening them: so that sometimes iI use thehistory brush to undo sharpening on whiskers aliased).

Strangely it seems that sometims non-bicubic resizing methods in Photoshop are workingbetter then bicubic which should be the best one of the three.
