Left: Agfa Ventura Deluxe (circa 1960) 6X6 medium format (solinar F4.5 lens). To be CLA's + new bellows this month.
Purpose: Outdoor low speed black and white portraits... in time for summer. In the Agfa's coldshoe is a (circa 1955) mint and working (farely rare) Telex uncoupled rangefinder attachment used to accurately gauge distance for focusing. Next to it is my 20+ year old mint condition Sekonic L-398 Studio Deluxe light meter. These cameras were fairly simple without an in-camera lightmeter or coupled rangefinder (It's also why this camera will be around 50 years from now after I do some maintanence whem my FZ-1 will long be in a landfill...) You even cock it's shutter manually. You used the "sunny 16" rule and guessed at subject distance witout the add-ons. What's cool about the folders is they "fold" the bellows fold into the camera and it's about the size of a metal cigarette holder.

Next is my Vivitar 3000S (circa 1992) with Vivitar 2000 automatic flash (not ttl). Both in working condition but the SLR could use a CLA. I bought the FZ1 and went digital when jammed a couple times. This is a fully manual camera - shutter, focus, everything. It was the only "new" manual I could find in the era of auto-mecha-everything . Decent 1.7 (fast) stock 55mm prime lens, will soon be relegated to my "coffee table camera" with fast 3200 (pushed)speed Ilford black and white film for family candids and darker situations not suited for the FZ-1. (These fast speed films have really improved) Also it will be my daughter's intro into the art. (...manual film slr, still the best way to learn imo). This + scanner is my pseudo-"digital" SLR. Love this camera, took some fantastic (and many not s'great) shots with it over the years...

Not pictured, Panasonic Lumix FZ1v2 (had to take the pic with something...) And my Revere 16mm movie camera (too lazy to dig it out of the closet...)

Thanks. Nostalgic? I still use this stuff! Hell, I got holey stretched out tidey-whitey's older than the Vivitar. We grew "out" (not "up" ) together.

Hmmm. Maybe I should have phrased that differently. I was referring to my waist by the way.

Nice b+w, camera gear suits this treatment

Made me pull out my old Sekonic meter to see if
it still meters accurately.

... correction. If the tidy-whitey fits (or even if it don't) wear it.
