I like to take pictures at my University's sporting events, particularly tennis, but the bright sun here seems to make the white's in the uniforms wash out. I used Auto White Balance for this one but I don't seem to get any better results whenusing the 'Sun' setting. Is there anything I can do to offset this? Would shooting in Manual with Shutter speed around 1/500 and trying differentf stopsettings be somthing that might work? Is there something that can be done in pp to fix this? Constructive comments welcome. Here is an example (slightly cropped and with PSP9 One Step Photo Fix applied):

In such situations you should use the exposure compensation.Try setting it to-2/3, that should give good results. The pictures will be a bit darker than.

Post processing won't help here. Overexposure always means loss of detail.

i would use the manual setting ..use the display button to turn on the histogram ..put the spot focus on the brightest part which would be the white tennis shirt use the manual exposer button to adjust the f stop and film speed untill the histogram reads in the center of the graph....the histogram works very well give it a try
