Well Tb. I'm inspired... by your IR shots and all the others. I just realized I have the Hoya IR ( as well asa dozen other filters!) and the FZ1 is on the way. I will try to become a better student now and stop posting nonsense.

Trippy stuff. Anyone know the physics behind this observation? Is it just that the visible light scatters more than IR or NIR?
Great shots... beatiful and addictive. The detail and contrast is remarkable. The print beautifully, but you need a black and white printer.

Don't quote me but "I think" the sun puts out more light in the near-infrared frequency range than visible light, so there's more light on the subject.

Ok, I'm gonna be blonde and say it but ...aren't there tones other than greyscale here? And wouldn't you lose the subtlness that these colors provide?

Very abstract and fantasy like. I like it. Good composition.

Just love the look of all of these! So much so I'll keep an eye out on ebay for a low priced FZ-1 just for this purpose.

Am also wondering the same things as shotgun bride with regards to printing on a color printer :?

aren't there tones other than greyscale here? And wouldn't you lose the subtlness that these colors provide?

You're not being blonde at all. Yes, they will print black and white, and yes you will lose color. BUT it will be the most amazing B&W you ever saw. Much prefer the ir's on B/W than the color printer, which give it an ugly color cast.

If you want to print WYSIWYG, you'll have to send it out.
