Hi all,

I try to make the macro photo with my FZ20 and nikon 6t, but many time don't find the focus.
I use manual focus at 12x zoom without tripod.
For example:
If I want to make a photo of flower in my garden put my camera about 30 cm from subject and
use manual focus, but I don't see perfectly focus on my efv, so I try to put the camera near to subject or distant from subject to find the focus. Is right this mode or there is better mode to shot?
When I look the photo on pc all the photo are out of focus.
I'ts possible to have a help to make good macro photo with more sharpness and better focus?

Thanks a lot

I use auto focus. With the 6t, 30cm is a little too close. At 12x zoom you will focus at about 35cm (13.5") from the subject. Lock focus with a shutter button half press and then move the camera very slightly closeror further to obtain maximum focus. Lots of practice in good light. Practice on still objects like coins or jewelry.

What works well for me is to manual adujust the focus ring to get close to correct focus, then move the camera towards and away from the subject to fine the fine focus point.

Fmoore is right that auto focus can work (I use the spot focus mode when doing so), but sometimes the camera has problems focusing if the subject is small with a deep background - I am liking the manual focus more and more for this kind of work.
