using your method, all i see is two images of my hand.
If you put the ring you've made with your fingers right up to your head and looked through it with one eye (similar to the view finder on the camera), how do you see two images of your hand? I'm sure both ways will work. Mine was told to me by a neurologist specializing in the brain. I'm right handed, but have a left dominant eye.

if i put the ring right up to my head, how does it prove anything? i can see with my right eye through the ring, and my left eye is unobstructed. or vice versa. doesn't do a thing to show me which is my dominant eye...

Sure it does, because you will instinctively put the ring up to and look through the ring with your dominant eye the first time you do this. Think of it along the same lines as free association. If you do this without consciously thinking about it and forcing yourself to use one or the other, your brain will want to use thedominant eye.
