Not having all my bird lingo down pat yet I opened this expecting to see Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon from Dirty Old Men. :blah:

Nice though still, like the first one. I personally find it's hard to get a lot of detail on a cloudy day in "not so blue" type water.

LOL. Yep just a couple of 'old coots'.

I tend to prefer overcast days, it difuses the light so no hard shadows but it means shutter speed goes down so action shots tend to blur.

Nice shots, very good job on the exposure. While Coots aren't very exotic, their red eyes certainly draw ones attention. I especially like the first pict.
