Lord, how i miss good English fish and chips! i lived in Victoria, BC for a time in high school, and there was an English-style fish-n-chips place downtown that served the most delicious food!

When I lived in England in the 70's, they served the take away in a newspaper cone. The print added to the taste.

I think it goes in the order of . . divorce, then you're eating fish and chips, then bankruptcy as you've given all you money to the "chippy".

As for fish wrapped in newspaper, you still come across that on occasion. Normally though, it is white paper instead these days.
