That's a pretty inticing recipe Nick. I love dill so I was thinking of going with 64/1000 tsp. I'll let you know how it turns out. :?

Your shots are both very good and I like the second one due to the pose.

The focus correction looks good but is the bird really that "red"?

You know Jed, as lovely as these birds are, their livers make a most delictable pate.

Cardinal Liver Pate
Ingredients :
1/2 stk butter
1/2 lb Fresh mushrooms
1 lb Cardinal livers
1 tsp Garlic salt
1/3 cup Finely chopped green onion
63/1000 tsp Dill seed
3 dsh Tabasco sauce
1 tsp Paprika
1/3 cup White wine
1 stk butter
Salt to taste
Simmer for 5 minutes in 1/4 cup butter the livers, mushrooms, garlic salt, paprika and green onions. Add wine, dill weed and Tabasco sauce. Cover and cook slowly for 5-10 minutes longer. Cool. Put in blender or food processor with 1/2 cup butter and salt. Blend until smooth and well mixed. Turn into mold and refrigerate overnight.
Makes about 3 cups. Serve with crackers.
Best served in an ice sculptured Chapeau.

Nice shots of the Cardinals. Even through glass they look good.

Thank you very much Viz. To answer you question, here is the original - only cropped and resized. In the first one, I had it in and out of photoshop several times but I don't recall making any color adjustments. That photo was taken at -1/3 ev (I was using auto braketing when I took it) and I had the saturation of the camera on high. It was one of those days when I was trying all sorts of settings and options to see what I could learn about the cam. I'll try to post some more with the cam on defaults if you'd like. Thanks for looking!
