I spent the night at the Royal Sonesta on Bourbon St. last night and after some weasel pulled the fire alarm at 5:30am I got to see what the famous street looks like at 6am for the first time in about 2 decades. Kind of scary actually- the people, not the street.

From the corner of Bienville and Bourbon:

Here I'm actually standing in the middle of Bourbon shooting down a side street.

wow.... somehow i expected Bourbon Street would be bigger (never been to the Big Easy)... great shots, but i love the first one. almost looks like a city in a third-world country, and captures a sense of the urban desolation and squalor that only the street people ever see, late at night, when all the tourists and the worker bees are home in their beds...

I go to the Big Easy for the first time next month. I hope to get some nice shots, but I hope none are fire alarm inspired!

Nice pictures, I like #2 the most.

Great pictures.......We're going to New Orleans this coming Friday to have a fun day of shooting! We live only a few hours away in Southwestern La. The shots you posted are very typical New Orleans. At each turn there is a great subject for interesting shots.

Very nice... Interesting lighting that one doesn't see too often in city-scapes. Wonder why?
