I know this is a bit different but when I saw the title it reminded me of people putting vaseline on the lens (I would definitely use a filter) to soften the image, and for other special effects, just thought I would mention it. Of course it also reminds me of the printing neg days when in order to "fill" the scratches on a damaged negative you would use "nose grease", you know where the nose attaches to your face, you would rub your index finger up and down in that crease to get da grease and you would apply it to the neg, worked like a charm. Ok, I am getting really OT, sorry guys!

Yes OT

Vaseline on the filter is not what the flash diffuser is
about. diff. effects. not related at all.
