My daughter and her friend Maria--she attended our local school for a few months last year and we met her in Guatemala City for a 1 day reunion

Hey Rickst...i loved the pics, work on your compositions a bit. There are a few detractors in each shot that take away from the absolutely beautiful stuff you are shooting.

I love the cathedral, i took the liberty of just straightening it, let me know if you think it helps the composition.

Please Rick, can you give a bit more info here? At the risk of sounding like a dufus (certainly won't be the last time either :blah - is this made from coloured sand? Naw, can't be asit looks frayed on the edge in spots. Why is it called a sand carpet?

Like the fountain as well. Indiawala is right, composition could have been a tad better. You also need to make a conscious effort to watch the horizontal lines in your shots, most have one that is not level and it distracts. Wonderful subjects though exposure is generally good as well.

Yes, the carpet is made of colored sand. They make many of these in the streets for the Easter Week Processions. Eventually I will straighten all of the pics as you suggest--I do this regularly with PSP 9
