I returned to my favourite flower patch and caught this guy.
It was only when I had the image on the monitor did I notice his tattered wings.
Do bee's wings deteriorate with age?

I would guess it's just normal wear and tear.
Bees dont live very long, and work pretty hard.
perhaps he's had a run in wiht a spiderweb or a fly swat...?
Very nice picture anyway
