Placing your hand over the lens is a great idea. Apparently this movement doesn'tshow at all. Do you actually cover the lens tightly with your hand or simply block it?

G'day m8t, I guess a better description would be firmly but being careful not to move the tripod and camera. Last night storm didn't happen at least not where I hang out, budget restrictions didn't allow for a long chase. Bugger andBugger again, maybe the next one.

A piece of cardboard placed in front of the lens works ok.



Hazzarbone-- I don't know much about the frequency of tornadic activity in your area but looked at some of the stuff on your homepage AND MAN those were some awsome supercells and Meso's!!
