After ordering a month ago it's finally here. First impression was how small it is, but this is great as portability is important to me. I've been reading all I can on this forum for the past few weeks – thanks for so much useful and interesting information.

I'm new to this level of digital photography (for the last 3 years I've used a Canon Digital Ixus V), so all comments and advice welcome. All pics were taken handheld – a tripod is next on my shopping list. No post-processing other than resizing.

Welcome to the forum, Chalk, and thanks for posting the pics. Looking forward to some moreA couple of requests: Can you post a link to the original of the last shot (12x of the torpedo tower) and could you take a couple of indoor shots of people from 6-10 ft in low light with and without the flash, please? Thanks.

Thanks for the original post. Looks very good. iso100 and withquite acceptable noise, IMO. No jaggies that I can see. Btw, I like yourfourth shot of the old castle juxtaposed with the modern skyline. Nice composition. Keep 'em comin'.
