This is a little tip on how to correct the white balance of a photo - it does not work on every picture but at least it means you still have a chance to save a few. The links below explain it better than I can - I basically followed the (1) url but added a new layer mask as described in (2). I found and set the a grey point on the guys jeans with RGB vales of 130,130,120 or as close to a grey as possible (see RGB colour codes) in the picture and then made adjustments to the blue and green levels afterwards:

(1)http://www.bairarteditions.com/pages.../cblevels.html

(2)http://www.jtgraphics.net/correcting_wb.htm

Here's a url with RGB colour codes:

http://www.pitt.edu/~nisg/cis/web/cgi/rgb.html

Here's the original pict and you can see there's a serious white balance problem.

Hope this helps !

Harj

Hazza

No problems mate - just happy I could pass that little tip on. It was driving me nuts having some good shots and the colour being so way out. I wasn;t sure if that was ruby, but looking at the pic now yep.. it does look like the mutt.

Cheers

Harj
