Good morning all :-)

I am considering registering on a photosharing site so I can create galleries, etc and give friends / family a way to easily view pics. I know of a few things to look for - guests not having to register to view pics, etc. but would be interested in hearing from you all: What site do you prefer and why?

TIA, Suze

I sometimes run mine thru 'Webshots' they seem to be OK but I do prefer my ISP provider...oh and I use a program called 'Web album generator' that creates a page and resizes the photos and creates thumbnails.

Suze

There's several to choose from - the most popular being www.smugmug.com, www.pbase.com which for a small fee can gve you complete control of your galleries, including your own site and then the completetly free site such as www.imagestation.com. Imagestation is great if you just want friends to view your pics, anything more such as wanting to sell your pics at a later date then you'd have to look at a smugmug or pbase account. I've got a gallery at imagestation and a smugmug one too.

Hope that helps

Harj

www.photobucket.com is free, lets you arrange pics in galleries if you like, and you can let guests view your photos easily.

Smilepak, do you mind me asking what website host you use? I've been shopping around for a new one, just looking for ideas.
According to Netcraft his site is hosted by SiteTurn Networks Inc.

I've always used Ofoto.com, which I think is now called Kodakgallery.com. You can have different photo albums and send e-mails to friends and family with a link to the website, and last time I checked, they didn't have to sign in to view anything. If they do choose to join, though, you get free pics, so that's kind of nice. I've put photos from trips to Norway and Jamaica on there, and I am planning on putting my wedding photos on there, too. It's not too technical of a sight - really easy to use and fun, too! :G

I've been using siteturn.com for the past 4 years. They've been pretty solid.
