This works on the FZ1v2 as well but....

Set FZ1 to Aperture priority
Set macro mode
set EV +2 LCD brightens a lot
frame shot
Set to HEART mode (there is no manual mode for FZ1) ((the AE mode does not reset EV to default))
Shoot
btw in HEART mode you loose ap priority but at least you do get that gain up. initially if you get my drift.

ps. if FZ1 is set to -1/3 to - 2/3 default the evf will be dimmer.
